The Upside Down Kingdom – Part 3 – Those Who Mourn
The broken window and the empty chair both give us an idea about what it means to mourn spiritually. We mourn over our own sin. We mourn because things aren’t the way the are supposed to be. But mourning is blessed when we remember that we are comforted by Jesus Himself.
Mourning will not last in the life of the believer. We will have every tear wiped away. The window will not stay broken. The chair will not remain empty.
Matthew 5:1-12
Revelation 21:4
James 4:8-10
2 Corinthians 7:10
John 11
Matthew 23
Romans 8:18-23
These are all passages that remind us that the mourning we face will one day be comforted.
CHALLENGE:
LOOK INWARD and deal with your sin.
LOOK OUTWARD and see the brokenness and suffering around you.
LOOK UPWARD & FORWARD remembering that one day Jesus will make all things new!
