Momentum-Week 1-Introduction
This is a book written by the brother of Jesus named James. And it is written to Christians who are “dispersed” meaning they had fled in the midst of extreme persecution. With this in mind, we see James challenging people to keep their momentum up as they do three things.
A–Deal with trials
*Consider them joy
*Ask God for wisdom
*Be content
*Go for the crown
*They are all gifts from God
B–Doing vs. Believing
*Don’t be deceived
*Watch for the dead give aways
*Apply the practicalities
C–Mind your relationships
*Love God
–He gives wisdom
–We give him devotion
–We understand the power is His
*Love Others
–Being generous
–Being patient
–Being in prayer
CHALLENGE:
- Ask God to reveal areas that you are not like Christ as we go through this series.
- Be obedient to all that God reveals that you need to change.
- Keep your eyes on Jesus and think about Him constantly!
